Shubashnee Story - focuses on providing a supportive environment for your practice. All levels are welcome.

Yoga is union. Personally, yoga is a journey of love and the connections within ourselves and each other. Yoga helps us bring harmony to the body, mind and breath. The wonderful journey of Awareness in all aspects of our lives.

Special thanks and immense gratitude to all my gurus and lecturers at the Ananda Kutir Ashram in Cape Town, South Africa, where I graduated in November 2002. Even though I had initially joined the training course as a journey into self discovery, I am immensely grateful for all the teaching opportunities since then.

“Yoga allows the discovery of the power, strength and courage within each and everyone of Us.”

Yoga assists the release of all things which do not serve us, and the discovery of the power, strength and courage within ourselves. Its connecting to the stillness within and carrying this stillness into daily life.

My yoga sessions are adaptive - to accommodate injuries or illness, fluid - flowing with where you are, at that particular time, seasonal - more heating back bends in the winter, holistic - engaging and bringing harmony to body, heart and the mind. My Interest in yoga is focused on general well being. I am interested in trauma release and pain management through movement, breathing and being still. I encourage the use of Smiles and Laughter to release tension and stress. When we laugh, we relax. When we are relaxed we can go a little deeper into the asana (yoga movements). As we go deeper into ourselves, we can release from this space and reconnect with our sense of freedom and joy.

Massage assists in releasing and letting go

Massage allows you to experience the bliss of letting go. You connect with this beautiful breath and the stillness within. As you relax and go deeper within, you become aware of the importance of touch. You connect with the nurturing and nourishing aspects of movement and stillness during an Ayurverdic Yoga Massage.
